Today is an Event Day! Based on how things have been going, it’s probably going to be a Bountiful Harvest or a Fish Frenzy. I will be surprised if it’s a negative event.

Why don’t I know for sure? You may notice that each issue of this newsletter comes out right at midnight GMT, when the game advances to the next day on the calendar. While I do enjoy this game a lot, I also have plenty of responsibilities in the real world, so I usually have several days worth of posts queued up at once. I can report on the day’s events AFTER they happen, just like a real journalist!

Yesterday Bert went through another mood swing and decided he really wants the Lab-Grown Carrot. Predictably, prices surged to around 200 SFL as of reporting time. Bumpkins flocked to the Woodlands to play the Potion Game to earn one themselves rather than having to pay for it.

The Potion Game doesn’t get a lot of attention, since it’s largely geared towards more advanced players with enough Coins to afford playing it regularly. At 320 Coins per play, you can very easily burn through your entire treasury before you can afford even the least expensive decoration.

Of course, you can’t actually plant Carrots until next week anyway! Unless you’re a brand new player who’s still on the starting island. In that case, call in the bunnies and get to harvesting.
