Yesterday was our first negative Seasonal Event! After taking it easy on us for two whole Seasons, the devs finally decided it was time to make us fear the weather. Predictably, Leather prices surged as farmers finally began making the protective items that will prevent such disasters. Details are in on the “damage” done to your crops and buildings: all cooking stations are disabled, animals can’t be fed or harvested from, and crop plots are disabled. Talk to Bailey today to make sure it doesn’t happen to you!
Today I’d like to talk about something little known, but highly useful: Shortcuts. Bumpkins are naturally lazy, and the players that control them probably are too. So when you walk all the way from one end of the beach to the other just to get to the dig site, you may wonder if there’s a better way. There certainly is!
The thing to remember is that while you can fast travel to any zone of the map,1 you will enter that zone from the entrance closest to the zone where you just were. For the Woodlands, Volcano Island, Goblin Retreat, and your Faction House, this doesn’t matter since they only have one entrance. The other zones have multiple entry points, so we can use that to our advantage.
To get to the Dig Site more quickly, first teleport to the Kingdom. Then, teleport to the Beach. You’ll end up right next to Jafar’s shop and skip the walk!
To reach the Plaza NPCs in the northeastern corner more easily (Bert, Betty, Timmy, Cornwell), just teleport to the Woodlands and walk to the left. Or, teleport again to the Plaza if you choose.
To get to the new multi-minigame Portal, just teleport to the Bumpkins’ Faction House and walk out the door. What’s that, you’re not a member of the Bumpkins? Why not? Sign up today!
After making your rounds up the Beach and delivering some fruit to Tango, you want to get to the Dig Site, but walking all the way back down around Miranda is just so hard. There’s an easier way! Walk up to the Banana tree near Tango, and try to pass through that gap. You can’t, right? Press up, press left, nothing works. Or does it?
If you’re on a desktop, press left/A and down/S at the same time. If you’re on a mobile device, use the direction stick to move left, then quickly move down. You’ll slip right between those two trees and be on your way to the Dig a whole couple of seconds sooner!
