Sixth Day of Summer
Howdy farmers, welcome to the Bumpkin’s Almanac, your daily digest for the #1 Web3 farming game, Sunflower Land. This issue is for Saturday, February 22nd, 2025.
Today we’ll talk about Factions! If you’ve visited the Kingdom area north of the Plaza, you’ve seen the four Faction houses, in all of their colorful glory. Factions are a way to unite players towards common goals, and provide some good benefits in return!

Factions debuted three Chapters ago, in April of last year, though the Faction Houses themselves didn’t open until July. Since then, players have taken part in the Weekly “War” for resources through various means:
Faction Pet- Feed different foods to a central creature and earn Marks, plus an XP boost for the whole week! Each week the pet is fed, the boost gets higher. If the goal isn’t met, the pet sleeps for the next week, but the bonus is retained…
Faction Kitchen- Deliver resources in exchange for Marks. The amount goes down with each delivery but resets each day.
Faction Chores- Earn Marks for doing things you already do. These were disabled at the beginning of the current Chapter, but may return in the future…
Portal Minigames- These don’t directly benefit the Faction, but you do earn a reliable source Marks from them!
Marks are the primary currency you earn from doing Faction-related tasks, and can be exchanged for wearables, decorations, food, and treasure keys. You may notice you need a LOT of Marks just to afford the cheapest wearable, but fortunately you can boost that too.
Faction Emblems were airdropped to players long ago, and are now only available in the Marketplace. Technically you don’t need any to belong to the Faction, but you can boost your Mark earnings from every source except Minigames1 by 5% just for buying about 2 SFL worth of your Faction’s Emblem. You can actually own any Emblem from any Faction, but it will only count for the one you’re in.
What if you decide you like the shine of the Sunflorian’s armor over the grubby stink of the Goblins? You can change Factions too, by giving up ALL of your Marks and starting over. Talk to the NPC that you used to buy Emblems from if you decide to go this route. Many farmers decide to do this just to get behind whoever has the biggest Pet boost that week, but don’t be like that. Commit to something and stick with it!
It’s true that it may take months to earn just one of the Faction’s armor pieces, which themselves boost Mark earnings, but this game is all about the long-term. The higher-tier armor pieces grant some serious boosts that you should definitely look after if you can.
That’s all for today! Subscribe via email or RSS to make sure you never miss an issue. Be well, do good work, and farm on.

1 Minigames provide a fixed number of Marks each day, but that number changes daily along with the difficulty of the game. Emblem and wearable boosts don’t affect this amount.
