Howdy farmers, welcome to the Bumpkin’s Almanac, your daily digest for the #1 Web3 farming game, Sunflower Land. This issue is for Thursday, February 27th, 2025.

Today is the first Random Event Day of the week! Since it’s Autumn, we could see:

• Fish Frenzy- +1 Fish on all catches

• Sunshower- Crops grow at 2x Speed. All crops in the ground when the event starts will have their remaining time halved, and any that you plant all day will grow twice as fast. When the event ends, no crop timers will change.

• Tornado- All crop plots are disabled, all cooking stations are shut down, and you can’t enter the barn or the hen house to feed your animals. NOT something you want to get hit with, so hopefully you got your Pinwheel after last week’s Tornado!

Have you played Chicken Rescue today? It’s one of the oldest Minigames in the Kingdom, and hasn’t been updated in a while. You can still see the faction name above my player name, which got changed to our names all being different colors, and Block Bucks, which pre-date Gems, are still visible in the upper right. If you still happen to have any of them, be sure to trade them in for Gems at the Goblin Retreat!

Anyway, Chicken Rescue is a simple snake-style game, where each chicken you “rescue” follows you around, eventually forming a large train. Obstacles form at random throughout the map, and if you touch one of them, the fence, or one of the chickens following you, you lose. Oh, and there are Goblins roaming about, too. When one of them gets an idea to move, you’ll see it, and then they’ll take off in a random direction. Watch out!

Each day, the goal changes, anywhere from 20-50 chickens that need rescuing, and the amount of Marks you earn scales accordingly. You normally get 5 attempts per day to reach the goal, and once you do, you can keep on playing. If you run into some trouble, though, you can always get a little help:

3 SFL goes a lot farther these days, but it can still be worth it if you want to get a 50-chicken reward.

• Tips for Chicken Rescue

  • Use the grid pattern on the ground to line up where you want to go. You have very tight control of your Bumpkin and can sneak around corners if you need to.

  • Use a keyboard! Play on a PC or use a Bluetooth keyboard for your phone, as it gives you much greater control.

  • Keep playing after you reach the goal to practice up for days with high requirements. See how high of a score you can get!
