Last Day of Autumn, and VIP Banners

Howdy farmers, welcome to the Bumpkin’s Almanac, your daily digest for the #1 Web3 farming game, Sunflower Land. This issue is for Sunday, March 2nd, 2025.
Today is the last day of the very first Autumn Season! As predicted, we did get a Tornado, as well as a Sunshower to keep things evened out. Bert decided he wanted the Valentine’s Field Background which was featured in an earlier issue, driving the price from 5 SFL to 20! It just goes to show that you never know how valuable something will get in the future. He also wanted the Kite, a new item only available through digging for Ancient Clocks. The Dig Site was very busy for those days!
Since it’s the beginning of a real-world calendar month, today we’re going to talk about VIP Access. You can find it in the upper right Gems menu as the third tab:

The 3 Month option is probably the most economical for most people, as it comes out to be about $3 USD per month, and lasts for an entire Chapter if you buy it at the beginning.
Fun Fact: While purchasing VIP access now adds time to your current expiry (If I bought 1 Month now my expiry would change to 6/4/2025), it used to be based on calendar months also, specifically when the new Chapter arrived. If you joined the game in the third month of the Chapter and bought VIP, you would only get it for 1 month! So, it’s better the way they have it now.
Another Fun Fact: There used to be a Lifetime VIP pass which never expired. It’s not available any more, but 2 years is pretty good also!
VIP Access gets you a lot of awesome perks, including the monthly airdrop that just became available. Last month it was the Locust Onesie, which you’ll no doubt see many players wearing in the Plaza. I don’t like it, myself. This month is the Mama Duck collectible, which looks just precious with her Spring Duckling. I haven’t picked up the Ugly Duckling from Stella, those expensive collectibles never appreciate well, in my experience.

A very new benefit for VIP is being able to queue foods in cooking buildings. Before, you had to just plan out your meals and make sure to change them frequently. This made things like Pumpkin Soup and Mashed Potatoes very tedious, but now you can queue up to four foods at once and your dutiful kitchen crews will make them all one by one. Queueing a food takes the ingredients out of your stock, but you can cancel it before it gets started and get the ingredients back! How useful.
This Chapter all VIP players get a 0.25 yield boost to the new single-Season crops (Rhubarb, Zucchini, Yam, Broccoli, Pepper, Onion, Turnip, Artichoke), which helps get more of them on the market and into player’s hands. Last Chapter it was a discount on animal feed, and before that you got extra digs at the Dig Site.
That’s all for today! Subscribe via email or RSS to make sure you never miss an issue. Be well, do good work, and farm on.
